Cultrology’s NFL Regular Season Awards
Best Offensive Lineman
Cam Robinson, Jacksonville Jaguars
The Jacksonville Jaguars are having a worst to first season after finally firing the hack that was Gus Bradley and it is due in large part to the acquisitions they made this offseason. They spent big to acquire AJ Bouye and create a dangerous cornerback duo, they spent their first round selection on one of the finest running backs in a long while, and they spent their second round selection on the monster that is Cam Robinson. All season long Cam Robinson has turned some of the league's best pass rushers into ineffectual pancake people. The Rams defensive line is star-studded and back in week 6 Cam turned them inside out. Watch 74 on every play.
This ROOKIE is the best offensive lineman in the league and will be turning pass rushers into breakfast food in playoffs and hopefully for a long while past that.

Best Kicker
Chris Boswell, Pittsburgh Steelers
Because James hates himself he spent a few hours looking at every single game since week 1 of 2013 that came down to 3 points or less. Through this process a fact revealed itself, being that that the leader in-game winning field goals every single season has made 3 game winners. 2013 was Justin Tucker and Nick Folk; 2014 was Kai Forbath with 3; in 2015 Adam Vinatieri, Brandon McManus, and Justin Tucker all made 3; last season Matt Prater helped the comeback Lions out quite a bit with his 3; but this season is different. Chris Boswell has broken the cycle by making 4 game winners including 3 in a row versus the Packer, Bengals, and Ravens. This means that during that stretch he made as many field goals for the game as the season leaders for the 4 previous seasons. This is an unbelievable feat that James was so excited to learn about that perhaps he’ll make himself find out if three in a row has ever happened in NFL history.
Comeback player of the year
Keenan Allen, Los Angeles Chargers
Last season Keenan Allen went down in the first game of the season against Kansas City with a torn ACL after only bringing in 6 catches for 63 yards. The Charges then slowly dragged themselves through another fruitless season resulting in the firing of coach Mike McCoy and this year the team has bounced back under Anthony Lynn and Keenan Allen has come back right with the rest of his team. 2017 was the best year of the talented receiver's career as he put up career high 1260 yards and 93 receptions as well as 5 touchdowns. No one could have predicted that Keenan would come back so strong and undoubtedly he deserved the nod for this award.
Defensive player of the year
Aaron Donald, Los Angeles Rams
Aaron Donald has been the center of the Rams defense since Robert Quinn began to decline in 2015; however, this year that changed since the Rams got rid of that sack-of-shit Jeff Fisher and now are one of the top defenses in the NFL. Aaron has been able to use his talents to make himself the single most effective interior defender of 2010s. With nearly 10 sacks a year since coming in the league, you won't find anyone that can compete facing off with guards and centers. Despite having only one big name in the defensive backfield the Rams had the 6th best passing defense this season and allowed the third worst completion percentage. Aaron Donald has been responsible for much of this defensive prowess as he creates chaos in every quarterbacks passing lanes. 11 sacks this season is an impressive number on the inside and that isn’t even the whole story as Aaron has been able to pressure quarterbacks even if he doesn’t get to them. He’s forced 5 fumbles this season and half of his tackles have been for loss. Undoubtedly there are few players that are difference makers like Aaron Donald and only one is our Defensive Player of the Year.
Offensive player of the year
Todd Gurley, Los Angeles Rams
This award would likely be going to Antonio Brown in another universe where he didn’t go down two weeks ago against the Patriots, but as residents of the universe as it is this award has to go to Todd Gurley. Gurley was Rookie of the Year back in 2015, had a sophomore slump, and now is back at it as the main feature of Sean McVay’s powerful offense and the numbers are nearly unbelievable. 2,093 scrimmage yards and 19 total touchdowns with a career high in carries, rushing yards, rushing touchdowns, receptions, receiving yards, and receiving touchdowns. He’s been a fantasy owner’s dream with 319 points racked up over the course of this insane season. His 19 touchdowns give him 114 points which is the highest in the league among non-placekickers. With his slump well behind him, Gurley is putting up numbers that he probably has trouble fathoming and thus he is our choice for Offensive Player of the Year.
Most VALUABLE player
Tom Brady, New England Patriots
There is no question that, even at 40 years of age, Tom Brady is the most valuable player in the NFL. He went down 28-3 against the Falcons back in the February and he hasn’t stopped making plays since. He’s lead his team to the top of the AFC with the third best yardage of his career along with an impressive 30 touchdowns with only 8 interceptions. Brady is likely to once again lead his team to a deep playoff run with a first round bye and only one other contender in their conference. We could see Tom Brady win his 6th Super Bowl this year and that is why he is the MVP.
